Trees produce and distribute clean water, filter the air, regulate the climate and support people and nature. Still, the number of trees is declining rapidly. The treeDripper project, an Demotech initiative, is one of our tools to change this trend.

Drip irrigation is an efficient and economical way to water Trees. Unlike other forms of irrigation, such as sprinklers that are only 65-75% efficient, drip irrigation is 90% efficient at allowing plants to use the water applied.  And, it reduces runoff and evaporation. Drip irrigation applies the water slowly at the plant root zone where it is needed most.

Drip irrigation has commonly been used in large-scale commercial nurseries and farm operations, and homeowners in the west are beginning to take advantage of its uses and benefits. But these systems are not made for those who live in poverty, who often have to deal with the driest conditions. At Demotech we made an inexpensive alternative, made of parts that are widely available.

The Treedripper can be used by everyone who wishes to do so. But our primary focus, we want to focus on children, teach them how to seed, nurse and plant trees. Let’s bring or send them the seeds and tools where ever they live, lets' give them a useful product as well as useful knowledge and the joy of making things. 

The Dream: There are a billion or more kids in basic schools. Let’s inspire them to seed, nurse and plant trees and assure they can manage to give these saplings the water and protection they need. Then billions more of new trees will grow to counter climate disruption and beautify the world.
